Who you are dealing with

TextLoupe is made and run by Irakli Kochua, a sole proprietor in Georgia. These terms are between you and him. Payment is the exception, and it is covered further down: your purchase contract is with Paddle.

What TextLoupe is

A menu bar app for macOS 15 or later. Select text in any app, press the hotkey, and it can translate that text, fix its grammar, rewrite it in a chosen style, or improve it as an AI prompt. The result can be pasted back over your selection. The language work is done by an OpenAI model through our server, so you do not need an OpenAI account of your own.

What you are getting

A licence to use TextLoupe on your own Macs while your subscription is active. You do not own the software and you may not resell it, rent it out, or pass your licence key to anyone else.

The trial

TextLoupe runs free for 7 days from first use. No card is needed to start it and nothing begins charging when it ends. When the trial is over the actions stop working until you subscribe. The trial has a smaller daily allowance than a paid licence, which is why it costs nothing.

Subscription and payment

TextLoupe costs $3.99 per month or $24.99 per year. Checkout, invoices, taxes and card details are handled by Paddle, which sells the subscription to you as merchant of record. Paddle's own terms cover the payment itself, and your receipt and billing history come from them.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the customer portal linked in your Paddle receipt, or by writing to [email protected] and we will do it for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running to its end.

Refunds

There is a refund policy on its own page. In short: the 7-day trial is there so you can find out first, and any charge can be refunded within 30 days of being taken.

Fair use

Each licence carries a daily token allowance, which exists so that one account cannot run up an unbounded bill on a shared service. It is set well above what ordinary use reaches, and what is left of today's is shown in the app's settings. There is also a cap on the number of Macs one licence may be activated on, three unless your licence says otherwise, and a limit on how long a single selection may be.

What you may not do

Breaking any of the following is the one thing that gets a licence suspended. Everything else we would rather talk about first.

• Use TextLoupe to produce unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
• Automate it, resell access to it, or route someone else's traffic through your licence.
• Work around the licence checks, the allowance, or the trial.
• Take the software apart to build a competing product from it.

Your text and the AI output

Whatever rights you had in the text you put in, you keep. We claim nothing over it, and we do not store it.

Results are produced by a language model and can be wrong. They can misread your meaning, drop a detail, or state something false in fluent prose. Read what it gives you before you send it. The app changes your own document only when you tell it to, and once it does, what the text now says is yours: you are responsible for anything you replace your own writing with, and for checking a translation before you rely on it.

Do not use TextLoupe for anything where an unreviewed mistake would be serious. It is a writing tool, not legal, medical or financial advice.

Availability

TextLoupe depends on services we do not control. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may pause it for maintenance or if an upstream provider fails. If it is down for a sustained period, get in touch.

Changes to the service

Features may change and prices may change. A price change will not apply to a period you have already paid for, and you will hear about it before your next renewal. If we change these terms, the new version is dated at the top of this page.

Ending it

You can cancel at any time. We may suspend or end a licence that is being used in breach of these terms, and where that is not your fault we will refund the unused part.

No warranty

TextLoupe is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate or fit for a particular purpose. Some countries do not allow that exclusion, and where yours does not, this paragraph does not take away rights the law gives you.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Georgia, and the courts of Georgia have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not remove the protections of the mandatory consumer law where you live.
